Jazzit Fest in Collescipoli
For three days the village of Collescipoli become the citadel of jazz: sixty free concerts, workshops, conferences, good food and good music to be enjoyed among thousands of people.
In the last weekend of June Collescipoli, a small medieval village just outside the city of Terni, it is transformed into the citadel of jazz. Jazzit magazine and the publishing house the Vanni Publisher, organize an event that brings together the approximately four hundred musicians from all over Italy who perform for free in the streets of the village for a total of about sixty concerts in three days. The atmosphere is that of a great celebration of music. Every corner of Collescipoli hosts concerts, conferences, workshops, educational workshops and the Jazz Expo, a meeting place for all industry players. For this occasion the people open the music, and not metaphorically! The inhabitants of Collescipoli host events in their homes and the Proloco contributes actively to the organization of the festival and the management of dining options around the village. Since its first edition, the Fest Jazzit refused government grants but supports through joint financing with the crowdfunding platform Development Bank Cultural. The funds collected are used for the 70% to support the realization of the event, 10% to fund the Proloco of Collescipoli, the Italian Association of Jazz Musicians and creative start-ups that will be born in Terni. The festival also features a "Charter of Values" and a "Code of Ethics" promoting cultural experimentation, artistic, social, organizational and economic. For that he deserved European good practices entitled "Culture Shapes The Smart City" and the honorary patronage UNESCO.
