Weekend Between Oil and Wine

After settling in the hotel, we reach the town of Ferentillo. Meeting with the guide and beginning of urban trekking in the small medieval village, nestled in the green Terni Valnerina, lying along a gorge overlooked by two fortresses and crossed by the Nera River, which divides it into two nuclei. We will visit the Museum of the Mummies, inside which are preserved some mummified bodies that came to light in 1805, an ancient oil mill dating back to the 18th century and a modern oil mill born in the early 1900s, which is still active today for the production of an excellent EVO oil from organic olives. At the end of the visit, small tasting of oil and products of the farm “La Drupa”, also known for the use of an important ingredient: the melangola, a citrus fruit, typical of southern Umbria and in particular of the area of Valnerina Ternana, characterized by a strong and bitter taste, able to enhance cheese, oil and many other typical local products. Upon request, possibility of lunch at the farmhouse to enjoy a menu of authentic flavors of the territory. In the afternoon, entrance to the Marmore Falls for a free visit on the scenic trails of the park of the same name, in order to admire the highest waterfall in Europe up close and in all its splendor.
