Program
After checking in at the hotel, you’ll reach the village of Ferentillo. Meet your guide and begin an urban trekking tour of this small medieval hamlet, nestled in the green Valnerina valley. The village is located in a gorge topped by two ancient fortresses and divided by the Nera River into two distinct parts.
The tour includes a visit to the Museum of the Mummies, where naturally mummified bodies discovered in 1805 are preserved, followed by visits to an 18th-century olive mill and a modern oil mill from the early 1900s, still active today and known for its excellent organic EVOO.
After the tour, enjoy a tasting of olive oil and products from the local farm La Drupa, also known for using a special ingredient: melangola, a bitter citrus fruit native to southern Umbria, especially the Valnerina area. Its strong, aromatic flavor enhances cheeses, oils, and many other local specialties. Upon request, lunch can be arranged at the farmhouse to enjoy a menu featuring authentic local flavors.
In the afternoon, enjoy a self-guided visit to the Marmore Waterfall, the tallest in Europe. Follow the scenic trails through the park and admire the spectacular beauty of the three-tiered falls up close. Guided tours available upon request.
Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner at the hotel or a traditional osteria.
After breakfast, head to the farm La Collina Incantata. Meet your guide and begin a vineyard trek through the iconic Umbrian landscape, with its rolling hills and lush vineyards.
Along the way, visit a local winery and its wine cellar, with a tasting of regional wines paired with typical local products.
Afterward, enjoy a farm-to-table lunch featuring seasonal and locally sourced ingredients.
Upon request, guests can also participate in hands-on workshops for traditional bread-making, homemade pasta, cheese, and jam – depending on the time of year.
